Purchasing vehicles directly from auto auctions in Japan provides you a great chance to access of thousands cars and definitely you can save time and money. At the beginning it may seems difficult process, but with assistance of our team you will enjoy and have a fun.

1. Please register an account with Japan Motor, which is free and simple. It gives you access to auto auctions in Japan; you can monitor your deposit, auctions, bids and payments.

2. Payment of guarantee deposit. In order to be able to start bidding and purchasing car you are required to put a guarantee deposit in the amount of 1500 USD (equivalent to 150 000 JPY). This deposit will be deducted from total value once you buy a car. It is also refundable at any time you request. Deposit can be done with several ways:

a)PayPal

PayPal is a world wide recognized secured payment method enabling on-line shoppers from all over the world to make fast, safe, guaranteed payments online. We can confirm the payment through PayPal within 5-10 minutes once you send funds (during working hours). Please arrange your payment to paypal@japan-motor.com. Kindly be aware about 4% commission from sending amount.

c)Bank transfer

Please make your bank transfer using below details. Usually it takes 2-3 business days to confirm the transaction.

3. Start browsing auctions. There are more than 150 auto auctions across Japan and auction stock. It is being updated on a daily basis from Monday to Saturday. We recommend you to check in the evening.

4. Once you check and find favourite units please inform us lot number and auction name. Our duty is to translate fully the auction sheet from Japanese into English. Based on report of car condition you can either place a bid or go to another target.

5. If you are still hesitating about condition of unit we can inspect car physically giving a call to auction staff. It costs 2 000 Yen.

6. Once you are satisfied with car condition and know what you are bidding on please inform us bidding amount. Then we place a direct bid on behalf of you up to the bidding amount if necessary. If the bidding goes over your budget then we stop, move onto your next car and you pay nothing for it. If the vehicle sells for less than your budget then you win the car with low price. It is an advantage of auto car auctions.

7. Once you win a car in auto auction Japan Motor pays the full amount to Auction house on behalf of you, therefore we kindly ask you to make a full payment on invoice within three working days. Meanwhile we prepare export procedures and ship your car to destination port.

8. After shipment we will send Bill of Lading, Export certificate and inspection documents (if needed) by DHL or EMS.

FOB CHARGES

When you review cars at Car Auction Search you see Car Price & FOB Charges separately. Please note that FOB Charges are different depending on the car. FOB Charges means all expenses in Japan and includes the following:

Agency Fee is JPY 95 000 for cars under JPY 1,000,000. A higher service fee applies for vehicles and items over JPY 1,000,000 or unusual items.
Agency fee includes all auction fees, sales taxes, our commission, car export documentations, logistics fees, and other expenses in Japan. If you buy more than 2-3 cars then you can have good discount. The more you buy the less you pay Agency Fee.

Inland Transportation Fee from 4,000 JPY ~
It varies depending on the location of the Auction house. Please note that car price in distant auction house may be much cheaper than close auction house. Please check Inland Transport Fee Table.

Documents Courier (DMS, DHL, FedEx, UPS)
We will send all necessary car documents via Express Postage to you.

Maritime Insurance
It depends on prices of cars, ocean freight, etc. Please inquire your sales consultant for more info if you require marine insurance

Additional cost might be added to agency fee in following cases
Negotiation fee
- 10,000 JPY(you can apply for negotiation even if you didn't bid on the car)

Cancellation of the bid
- after you won the car 80,000 JPY (you can cancel a car within 1,5 hours after you win it) .. Not applicable for tender auctions and for car won through negotiations
Resell at the auction
- 50,000 JPY penalty + costs incurred due to resell (auction fees, inland transport, etc.)

*LATE PAYMENT

- 2 days grace period will be provided to settle any outstanding balance and penalty of 10,000 yen will be charged on a weekly basis and account will be locked
*Trucks and Over size vehicles
- Extra 30,000 JPY on top of FOB charge due to higher inland transportation fee and clearance fee at port
*Lowered down cars
- Some vehicle such as Sport cars sometimes have low height, depending on the height of suspensions, there might be extra fee included in FOB due to Self-Drive Inland arrangement
*None Drivable cars (None-Claim section cars)
- Extra 30,000 JPY for inland fee to use Forklift service
*Wholesale vehicles (Stock cars from Dealers)
- Extra 15,000 JPY for inland fee
